Hi i have a pair of ringneck proven male and female were both approximately 22 months old, My question is when they will breed and what do they need?

Ringneck Parrot Breeding

Thank you for your question. Follow these steps to encourage Ringneck Parrot breeding:

1. Feed your parrots a calcium rich diet and vitamins starting several weeks before breeding begins.

2. Breeding for Ringneck's tends to happen in the winter months (December through February). If you want to breed during warmer months, avoid putting a nesting box into the aviary until spring. To this point, give your birds a nesting box which is made out of metal or wood. It should be 10" by 10" and 20" deep. The nesting box itself should be filled with wood shavings. Watch to make sure the parrots are not neglecting or ignoring the eggs.

3. Allow the birds to incubate the eggs. After the chicks hatch make sure the Ringneck parrots are taking care of the chicks.
