We have a 17 year old parrot who is with us for 17 years and is only living her entire life in the cage alone suddenly laid an egg last night 4 June 2011. We thought that she was sick last night because she couldn't sleep and and looks like there was a boil in her ass and planned to bring her in the vet early morning, but when we wake up we suddenly saw an egg inside the cage.

Is it possible?

All hens will lay eggs, with or without a mate. Unless you have a male to fertilize it, there is no possibility it will hatch. Of course your bird is still a virgin, unless you get her a mate!
